An Italian painted wood settee from the late 19th century, with floral décor and new upholstery. Born in the Serenissima during the last quarter of the 19th century, this Venetian settee features a slightly slanted open back with serpentine rail, adorned with pierced splats. Boasting a soft cream / yellow color adorned with a delicate décor of pink flowers and green foliage on its entire structure (except for the back), the settee is flanked with scrolling arms resting on a linen covered seat accented with brass nailheads. The ensemble is raised on six legs, tapered and painted in the front. With its light color palette and delicate décor, this Venetian painted settee circa 1880 will bring a graceful presence to any home, particularly placed in a living room or bedroom.
