A tall English oak barrel from the late 19th century, with brass braces. Born in England during the later years of the 19th century, this tall barrel presents an oval shape made of thin vertical slats, reinforced by the presence of brass braces, whose golden hue contrasts beautifully with the nicely weathered patina of the oakwood. Two lateral brass bail handles allow the barrel to be moved more easily. Its tall proportions and rustic appearance will make this English oak barrel circa 1880 an excellent planter, jardinière or umbrella stand.
