This pair of French Louis XV style silver leaf upholstered stools from the early 20th century features muslin covered seats over nicely scalloped skirts with central carved motifs. Each stool is raised on four cabriole legs with lovely volutes on the knees. Exquisitely carved cross stretchers connect the legs to one another on each stool. The delicacy of the sinuous Louis XV shape, the beautiful choice of silver leaf gilding that shows some distressing, along with the addition of the cross stretchers would make this pair of French stools circa 1900-1920 a great addition to any room, perhaps next to a pair of French bergères or a coffee table.
