Pair of French Midcentury Ebonized Tables with Ormolu Mounts, Drawer and Shelf

A vintage pair of French ebonized bedside tables from the mid 20th century, with ormolu décor, single drawer and lower shelf. Born in France during the midcentury period, each of this pair of bedside tables features a rectangular top surrounded by a gilt trim, overhanging a single dovetailed drawer opening thanks to an elegant pull. The apron’s corners are adorned with ormolu mounts, whose golden hue contrasts beautifully with the black color of the ebonized structure. The delicate scalloping of the apron introduces beautifully the discreet curving of the four legs on which each table is raised. Securing a lower shelf, the legs are accented with foliage-themed ormolu motifs on the feet. With their graceful lines and perfectly contrasting colors, these French ebonized side tables circa 1950 will bring a refined touch to any home, perhaps used as bedside tables or end tables.
