A pair of English wooden armchairs from the mid 19th century, with hand-painted foliage and floral décor and new upholstery. Created in England during the second quarter of the 19th century, each of this pair of armchairs features a shield back adorned with painted acanthus leaves surrounding a central medallion decorated with delicate flowers. Two scrolling open arms flank the newly reupholstered seat and come to rest atop the front tapering legs, adorned with ribbon-tied urns. With their elegant lines and dark patina, this pair of English armchairs circa 1830 will bring a graceful presence to any living room or bedroom.
