A pair of Regency style English painted wood parcel-gilt armchairs from the early 20th century, with scrolling arms, rosettes, fluted and saber legs, casters and new upholstery. Born in England at the Turn of the Century, each of these two armchairs presents the stylistic characteristics of the Regency period. Featuring a curving back with out-scrolling upper rail, each chair showcases two open arms, partially upholstered on the top and accented with rosettes carved on their scrolling extremities. The seats, backs and arms have been reupholstered with a new linen fabric. Each chair is raised on four legs, the front ones being fluted, while the hind ones are saber, all of them resting on petite casters. With their perfectly contrasting colors and elegant Regency lines, these English painted armchairs circa 1900 will bring an undeniable touch of elegance to any living room, bedroom or office.
