A pair of English Welsh cupboards from the 18th century, with shelves, single drawers, turned legs and brass Chippendale style hardware. Created in England during the 18th century, this pair of Welsh cupboards is a rare find! Each cupboard features a molded cornice with beveled lines, sitting above open shelves. This upper section, of narrow proportions, shows tapering lines. The lower part is made of a petite sideboard with rectangular top over a single drawer. Fitted with a brass Chippendale style hardware, the drawer showcases a hand-cut dovetail construction revealing its nice age. Each cupboard is raised on turned legs in the front securing, along with the straight ones in the back, a lower planked shelf. Resting on block feet, the cupboards present simply recessed on the sides and unfinished backs. Their slender proportions and rare quality will make this pair of 18th century Welsh cupboards a great addition to any kitchen or dining room!
