A pair of Italian parcel-gilt walnut armchairs with intertwined serpents and saber legs from the mid 19th century and new upholstery. Each of this pair of Italian chairs features a curved back with gilded accent on the upper rail. The eye is immediately drawn to the exquisite oval intertwined rings revealing, after closer inspection, two serpents. The scrolled arms are resting on a linen recovered seat, accented by a brass nailhead trim. The ensemble is raised on four saber legs, whose lines are reminiscent of the Empire era. With their warm patina, elegant silhouettes and interesting décor, this pair of Italian upholstered armchairs circa 1860 will bring a stylish touch to any home, whether in a modern or traditional setting.
