A pair of French Empire style X-form walnut stools with cornucopia and swan-neck motifs from the second half of the 19th century. Each of this pair of French stools features rectangular seat that dips slightly, newly covered with in a single welt muslin upholstery. Each stool is raised on an exquisite X-form base, adorned with stylized cornucopias in the upper section and resting on graceful swan necks. The junction between the two sections is carved with waterleaves and attached to a spindle-shaped cross stretcher that connects the legs to ones another. With their elegant Empire lines and rich patina, this pair of French stools circa 1870 (or earlier) would compliment any décor beautifully, from modern to traditional.
