A pair of mid-19th century Austrian Biedermeier stools with green upholstered seats and X-form base. Each of this pair of Biedermeier stools features a new green upholstered rectangular seat, safely secured by two delicately out-scrolled arms with reeded motifs in their center. The arms elegantly scroll down to meet the lower section, inverted in shape. The junction is carved with a foliage motif and is attached to a cross stretcher that connects the two sides to one another. The graceful lines, warm patina and understated décor, typical of the Biedermeier period that took its inspiration in the French Empire period, will make this pair of Austrian X-form stools, circa 1850 a perfect choice for any home, perhaps placed in a living room, bedroom or office.
