An Italian Neoclassical period painted bench from the early 19th century, with foliage motif, tapered legs and new upholstery. This exquisite Italian Neoclassical bench features a rectangular seat, covered with a new linen fabric accented by a brass nailhead trim. The skirt on which the seat rests, is adorned with a delicate foliage motif present in the center of the longer sides, while each knee is decorated with carved medallions. The bench is raised on four elegant tapered fluted legs topped with acanthus leaves capitals. The delicacy of the décor, combined with the beautifully distressed finish revealing the age of the piece, will make this Italian painted bench circa 1810 an excellent decorative accent in any room, from a living room to a bedroom.
