A near pair of Italian bedside tables from the early 19th century, with painted birds and ducks, doors and drawers. Please note that the pieces are unmatched but have been together for years and we are keeping them that way. Created in Italy during the early years of the 19th century, this pair of bedside tables captures our attention with their hand-painted décor showcasing various birds, and their nicely weathered appearance. They both present a rectangular top with distressing, sitting above a façade organized differently between the two. The table on the left in the photos showcases two faux drawers concealing a door, and two real ones in its lower section. The door opens to reveal a convenient storage space. The table on the right showcases a single door with carved panels, opening to two inner shelves. The décor on both is made of various birds including ducks, parrots and other varieties, standing on each side of a pond. The sides however showcases birds perched on branches. The ensemble, raised on short tapered feet with fluted accents, boasts an undeniable and very much sought-after weathered appearance revealing the pieces’ good age. With their clean lines and delicately hand-painted décor, this pair of Italian nightstand tables circa 1800 will make for a great addition to any bedroom!
