This is a late 19th century Long Italian trestle table with two Baroque style flattened lyre-shaped legs and a thick solid wooden single plank top, possibly made of walnut. The splayed double scroll carved legs are joined together by beautifully undulating struts, connected to the center of the tabletop with a remarkable X-shaped twisted iron stretcher. This sizable Italian table can be used as a capacious dining table or even as a monumental desk. The dark patina along with the stature of this impressive piece, circa 1870, would add a spectacular presence to any room.
