This large stoneware spirit barrel from the late 19th century has been transformed into a beautiful table lamp. The lamp is made of a lighter brown circled by six faux darker brown straps. The barrel features the name Beard’s Sussex Brew. The Beard’s brewery could trace its history back to Thomas Beard in Lewes, Sussex County in 1811. The barrel also features the name of the product, Extra Strong Barley. This English stoneware lamp, circa 1880 sits on a custom-made circular base and has been wired for the US market. Such a lamp would make for a wonderful conversation piece were it placed in a living room, a den or even in a game room.
