An Italian giltwood square-shaped mirror from the mid 20th century with openwork carved foliage and acanthus leaves corners. Created in Italy during the second quarter of the 20th century, this square-shaped mirror features an exquisite openwork frame made of an arabesque of scrolling foliage. The four corners are accented with delicate acanthus leaves. The central mirror plate showcases a light antiquing. The back is simple and wired to allow the piece to be hung. Boasting a nice patina with some loss to the gilt, this Italian carved mirror circa 1940 will make for an elegant addition to any home, perhaps hung above a commode, a buffet or a side table.
