An English painted horse from the mid-19th century on new custom iron stand. This energetic large sized horse is painted black with white spots. It sits on a twisted iron stand yet somehow seems to be in motion, perhaps leaping over a fence. This horse may have started out life as a toy for the children of nobility or a wealthy English family. With its clean lines and dynamic energy, this English painted wooden horse would make a wonderful addition to any living room, conference room or lobby, circa 1860. It is splendid on its own but we have another which could make for a wonderful pair, perhaps sitting atop a buffet or credenza.
