This French trumeau painting from the late 19th century features a beautifully executed painted scene on canvas, reminiscent of a technique situated between the grisaille or the verdaille. The viewer immediately focuses on the ruined construction placed to the right, which leads the eye up to the lake or sea shore in the background. Serene, this scene is set inside a painted and carved wooden frame with nicely contoured moldings. We have currently available a matching panel should you be interested in a pair. There is only one inch difference in their height.
