A French Louis XVI style walnut three-drawer commode from the mid-19th century, with butterfly veneer, fluted side posts and tapered feet. Born under the reign of France’s last king Louis-Philippe, this walnut commode features a rectangular planked top adorned with an exquisite butterfly veneer, sitting above an elegant façade. Each of the three dovetailed drawers is adorned with two classical ring pulls flanking a central escutcheon. The commode is accented with four fluted side posts (as opposed to the more common two in the front), leading our eye to the fluted tapered feet. With its pure Louis XVI lines and wonderful patina, this walnut 1840s three-drawer commode will bring a touch of French elegance to any home, whether placed in a bedroom, living room or foyer.
