A French Empire commode from the 19th century, with white marble top, four drawers, butterfly veneer, bronze mounts and column-shaped posts. Created in France during the 19th century, this Empire commode features a rectangular white marble top sitting above a frieze drawer concealed in the apron. Three additional drawers, adorned with butterfly veneer and fitted with shell hardware follow below, while the façade is flanked with column-shaped side posts topped with rosettes and beads bronze capitals. The sides are also adorned with butterfly veneer while the back is left unfinished. The commode is raised on four feet, the two front ones being elongated cylinder legs topped with bronze guilloche and bead rings while the back ones are straight. With its clean lines and lovey décor, this 19th century French Empire commode will bring a touch of Classicism to any home, perhaps placed in a bedroom or living room.
