A French elm vaisselier from the 19th century, with open shelves, lower buffet and scalloped accents. Created in France during the 19th century, this elm vaisselier hutch features narrow open shelves in the upper section secured with a thin baluster accented with spindle shaped motifs. The cornice is nicely carved and comes forward to create a focal point accentuated by the turned finials on each side. The lower section showcases the buffet part made of two drawers sitting above two doors adorned with recessed burl panels and arching motifs. The drawers are fitted with brass bail handles on floral backplates, flanking a shield-shaped escutcheon while the doors present sinuous hardware with etched accents. The apron is scalloped on three sides. Showcasing a peg construction, the vaisselier is mounted one petite feet. The sides are made of recessed panels while the back is unfinished. With its elegant lines and great wood grain, this French elm vaisselier from the 19th century will make for a wonderful addition to any dining room!
