A French steel bench from the mid 20th century, with out-scrolling arms, tapered legs and classical-themed toile upholstery. Born in France during the second quarter of the 20th century, this steel bench features a rectangular seat covered with a Roman-themed toile fabric depicting two characters standing under the Arch of Augustus that was located in the Roman forum. Two out-scrolling arms accented with rosettes flank the seat, and are echoed on the pierced fluted tapering legs, while the apron is adorned with brass palmettes. With its perfect mix of antique and modern, this French steel bench circa 1930 will bring an elegant presence to any living room or bedroom.
