French 18th Century Walnut Buffet with Carved Floral Motifs, Drawers and Doors

$8,400

A French walnut buffet from the 18th century, with carved floral motifs, two drawers and two doors. Created in France during the reign of King Louis XV in the 18th century, this walnut buffet features a rectangular top with canted corners in the front, sitting above two drawers fitted with brass hardware and separated from one another through a delicately carved floral motif . Each drawer is adorned with an horizontal diamond motif and showcases a nail construction revealing the piece’s good age. Two doors below with recessed panels and curving accents, complete the ensemble. They open to inner shelves offering convenient storage space. A scalloped apron, carved with foliage and flowers in a wicker style basket, connects the legs to one another. The side posts are adorned with discreet fluted motifs while the sides are made of simply recessed panels. The back is, of course, unfinished. Boasting a nice patina, this 18th century French walnut buffet will make for a great addition to any home, particularly displayed in a living room or dining room!
