A French fruitwood settee from the late 19th century, with carved urns, out-scrolling arms and new upholstery. Born in France at the end of Emperor Napoleon III’s reign, this settee features an exquisite pierced back, adorned with carved urns. Two out-scrolling arms flank a rectangular seat, upholstered with a linen fabric accented with brass nailhead. The ensemble is raised on six tapered legs with cavetto molding. With its graceful Silhouette and lovely fruitwood patina, this French settee circa 1870 will bring a touch of refinement to any home, particularly in a living room or bedroom.
