An English walnut flip top sideboard /dresser base from the 19th century with faux drawers, four lower ones and reeded side posts. Created in England during the 19th century, this walnut sideboard is full of surprises! The piece features a rectangular flip top opening thanks to a lateral latch to reveal a large storage area hiding behind faux drawers adorning the façade’s upper section. Four real drawers, fitted like the dummy ones with brass hardware, complete the ensemble. They showcase a hand-cut dovetail construction revealing the piece’s good age. This perfectly organized façade is flanked with thin reeded side posts and delicate inlay below. The sides showcase simply recessed panels and the back is unfinished. The sideboard /dresser base is raised on five backeted feet.
