An English iron sculpture from the early 20th century depicting an eagle perched on a rock, with dark brown patina. Created in England during the Turn of the Century which saw the transition between the 19th to the 20th century, this iron sculpture depicts a majestic eagle peacefully perched on a rock. The bird is represented with great finessed in its details, particularly on his plumage. He is turning his head to the left, as if attracted by a scene invisible to us. The iron rock on which he is gripping his talons, is itself mounted on a larger real one. Its light color contrasts with and compliments the sculpture’s dark brown patina beautifully.
