An English leather shell box from the late 19th century mounted on a custom mahogany stand. Born in England during the later years of the 19th century, this handsome piece features a leather shell box presenting a nicely weathered patina, mounted on a rectangular base. The box opens to reveal a compartmented storage while four straight legs are connected to one another through an H-form cross stretcher. Perfectly repurposed, this piece, which holds great history, has a rich patina that will compliment any living room or hallway, used perhaps as a side table. This English 1880s shell box on custom stand could be used in a traditional setting or as a contrast in any modern decor.
