English Georgian 1800s Five-Drawer Chest with Oyster Veneer and Cross Banding

$12,600

An English Georgian period walnut chest from the early 19th century with oyster veneer, five drawers and Chinese Chippendale style brass hardware. Created in England during the early years of the 19th century, this chest captures the attention with its splendid oyster veneer décor perfectly complimenting its Classical lines. The chest features indeed a rectangular top with oyster veneer and cross banding, sitting above a perfectly organized façade. Five drawers (two small ones over three larger ones), decorated in a manner reminiscent from the top, are all fitted with Chinese Chippendale style brass hardware. The side panels are decorated as well, the back is, of course, unfinished. The ensemble is raised on ogee bracket feet whose sinuous lines compliment the piece beautifully. With its elegant lines and stunning oyster veneer, this English Georgian period walnut five-drawer chest circa 1800 will make for a wonderful addition to any home, whether placed in a living room or bedroom.
