English George III Period 1800s Oak Two Part Geometric Front Five Drawer Chest

$10,200

An English George III Period two part oak chest from the early 19th century, with geometric front, five drawers and brass hardware. Created in England during the reign of King George III in the early years of the 19th Century, this oak chest, made of two parts, features a rectangular top sitting above a perfectly organized façade. Five drawers (two small ones over three larger ones), are carved with geometric motifs alternating with one another at each level. They are all fitted with elegant brass hardware made of teardrop pulls and ornate escutcheons. Their dovetail construction reveals the piece’s good age. The sides are plain and the back is, of course, simply planked and distressed. The ensemble is raised on four elegant ogee bracket feet. With its elegant lines and oak patina, this English George III period five drawer geometric front chest circa 1800 will make for a wonderful addition to any home, perhaps placed in a bedroom or living room.
