An English George III period oak dresser base from the early 19th century, with three drawers, inlay, scalloped apron and straight legs. Created in England during the reign of King George III in the early years of the 19th century, this oak dresser base features a rectangular planked top sitting above three drawers. Each drawer is adorned with a thin banding alternating dark and light colors, itself surrounded by a darker frame. Two wooden pulls open each drawer, the central one comprising of an ornate brass escutcheon. The dovetail construction reveals the piece’s good age. The ensemble is raised on four straight legs, connected to one another through a carved scalloped apron in the front and curving on the sides. With its clean lines, subtle inlaid décor and nice weathered patina, this English George III period oak dresser base circa 1800 will make for a wonderful addition to any home, perhaps placed in a living room or dining room.
