English 19th Century Teak Campaign Chest with Five Drawers and Brass Hardware

$10,500

An English teak wood two-part campaign chest from the 19th century, with five drawers, inset brass hardware and turnip feet. Created in England during the 19th century, this teak (a very sturdy wood) campaign chest is made of two parts stacked on the top of one another. The chest features a rectangular top sitting above a perfectly organized façade. Five drawers (two small ones over three larger ones of varying height), are fitted with recessed brass hardware. Their dovetail construction reveal the piece’s age. Brass braces complete the ensemble. The sides are plain and the back is, of course, unfinished. The chest is raised on four turnip feet whose rounded lines contrast with the general linearity beautifully. With its clean lines and nice patina, this English teak Campaign chest from the 19th century will bring a touch of simple elegance to any home, particularly displayed in a living room, bedroom or hallway.
