English 19th Century Barley Twist Stool with Linen Upholstery and Brass Nailhead

$2,200

An English oak stool from the 19th century, with barley twist base, rectangular block joints and new linen upholstery and brass nailhead trim. Created in England during the 19th century, this oak stool features a rectangular seat newly recovered with a neutral toned linen fabric complimenting the oak’s wood grain beautifully. The upholstery is secured thanks to a brass nailhead trim. It is the base however, which attracts our attention with its four barley twist legs accented with rectangular block joints creating a visual pause on each side. The stool is strengthened with stretchers of similar barley twist style, doubled on two of the sides. The ensemble is raised on four petite teardrop feet. With its elegant motifs and dark oak patina, this English upholstered barley twist stool from the 19th century will bring an undeniable touch of elegance to any home, perhaps placed in a kitchen, living room or bedroom.
