English 1920s Mahogany Bench with Fretwork Spandrels and New Linen Upholstery

$2,650

An English mahogany bench from the early 20th century, with fretwork motifs, straight legs and new linen upholstery. Created in England during the first quarter of the 20th century, this mahogany bench features a rectangular seat newly recovered with a linen fabric secured with a brass nailhead trim. Showcasing an apron with butterfly veneer, the bench is raised on six straight legs with rounded corners on the sides. It is however the delicate addition of fretwork spandrels, that attracts our attention with much subtlety. These fretwork spandrels are adorning the benche’s four sides in a continuous manner. It will therefore be able to be seen from all sides in a room. With its clean lines, complimenting colors and delicately carved décor, this English mahogany veneered bench circa 1920 will bring a discreet touch of elegance to any home, whether placed in a living room, bedroom, hallway or breakfast area!
