An English oak serving table from the late 19th century, with black geometrical décor and large richly carved baluster legs. Born in England at the end of the 19th century, this exquisite serving table features a rectangular planked top sitting above an eye-catching apron, adorned with raised diamond motifs surrounding geometrical motifs, alternating black and light accents. The table is raised on four robust baluster-shaped legs, each presenting a richly hand-carved décor of vines and grapes surmounting scoop motifs, the ensemble supporting thin Ionic capitals with gadroons. The legs are connected to one another through plain side stretchers and are resting on bun feet. With its large proportions, exquisite décor and lovely oak patina, this English serving table circa 1880 will bring a touch of tradition to any home, particularly in a dining room or living room.
