An English mahogany lap desk from the late 19th century with custom made stand, green leather and days of the week slots. Born in England during the third quarter of the 19th century, this English box on stand features a rectangular Campaign desk sitting above a custom made base. The brass bound box with monogram on the top opens to reveal a green leather fitted upper section presenting days of the week slots while the lower section showcases a small partitioned area dedicated to inkwells and other writing accessories. Additional storage for documents is placed under the green fabric lined writing board. Accented with a brass lock, the desk is mounted on a new custom base with tapering legs, transforming it into a perfect side or drinks table. With its clean lines and lovely mahogany finish, this 1870s English lap desk will bring a touch of tradition to any living room.
