Born in England during the third quarter of the 19th century, this lap desk features a rectangular writing walnut box adorned with brass accents on its top and sides. The box has been mounted on a custom-made wooden base with straight legs and H-form cross stretcher. The box opens up to reveal a delightful small size writing area, fitted with black leather and adorned with a gilt Greek key trim. Small wooden partitions at the top provide storage for keeping pens, inkwells and other items organized. The writing area opens to reveal additional storage for papers.
