An English wooden hall chair with plank seat and painted crest from the mid-19th century. This English hall chair features a slightly slanted cartouche-shaped back, adorned in its center with medallion depicting a crest made of a crown, from which emerges an arm holding a laurel wreath, all of which are symbols of power and victory. The plank top, flaring out in the front, rests on four saber legs, whose curvature is more pronounced in the front. Perfect to be placed in a hallway, this English chair circa 1840 would be a wonderful accent chair in virtually any room, from a bedroom to a foyer to a den.
