English 1810s Georgian Geometric Front Four-Drawer Chest with Macassar Ebony

$7,995

An English Georgian period geometric front four-drawer chest from the early 19th century, made of mahogany, oak and macassar ebony. Created in England during the first quarter of the 19th century, this Georgian chest features a rectangular planked top with rounded edges, sitting above a perfectly organized geometric façade. Four drawers, of varying heights, are indeed made of beautifully carved geometric panels with raised accents, alternating wood varieties. The differing tones coming from the Macassar ebony, mahogany and oak give great life to the ensemble. The drawers, fitted with brass hardware, are grooved for the runner and show a dovetail construction revealing the chest’s good age. Made of two parts, the piece showcases recessed panels on the sides and is, of course, unfinished in the back. Boasting a nice patina, the chest is raised on bun feet. With its nicely carved décor and alternating wood types, this English Georgian period geometric front four-drawer chest circa 1810 will make for a wonderful addition to any home, placed in a bedroom or living room!
