A vintage English wooden garden bench from the mid 20th century, with light paint, carved foliage and fan motifs, distressed patina and scrolling arms. Created in England during the Midcentury period, this wooden bench features a slightly slanted back adorned with a carved crest depicting a fleur-de-lys reminiscent motif topped with a fan. Accented with delicate scrolling foliage, this back flows seamlessly into the hind saber legs. Two large scrolling arms come to rest on rectangular block joints and flank the long wooden slatted seat. The bench is painted in a light color with greatly distressed appearance including moss, thus revealing its presence outdoors. The ensemble is raised on four legs, cylindrical and tapering with reeded motifs in the front and saber in the back. With its skillfully carved décor and great patina, this English light painted bench from the mid 20th century will make for a wonderful addition to any garden!
