Crystal Chandelier in Basket Shape

This petite French crystal chandelier from the mid 20th century features a lovely basket shape. Reminiscent of the Empire taste, the chandelier is made of a metal double ring adorned with diamond shaped crystals of amethyst color. The crystals give a subtle rhythm to the horizontal band. An organized variety of crystals drape the upper section of the chandelier, connecting the ring to the gilded crest in a concave movement. Taking an opposite convex shape, the lower crystals lead the eye to the spear shaped ones from which an amethyst color finial hangs. Its small size, elegant décor and basket shape would make this French chandelier circa 1950 a beautiful accent in any home. It has been wired for the American market and is ready to be hung.
