An Austrian Biedermeier period wooden armchair from the 19th century, with unusual horseshoe back, out-curving arms, intertwined semi-circular motifs, turned and saber legs and green leather upholstery. Created in Austria during the 19th century, this stylish armchair features an open horseshoe back adorned with two intertwined semi-circular motifs replacing a back splat. This unusual back flows seamlessly into the two elegant arms adorned with out-scrolling extremities and curving frontal supports. The seat is covered with green leather secured with a brass nailhead trim. The chair is raised on four legs, tapered in the front with petite spade feet, and saber in the back.
