An Austrian Biedermeier period walnut veneered commode from the 19th century with four graduated drawers and rectangular ebonized block feet. Created in Austria during the 19th century, this Biedermeier commode features a rectangular top sitting above a beautifully organized façade. Showcasing a beautifully walnut veneer, the commode is made of a thin slightly curving drawer in its upper section, followed by three larger ones of increasing size. They all present a dovetail construction revealing the piece’s age and a central brass keyhole. The sides are sans décor and the back is, of course, unfinished. The commode is raised on four rectangular block feet with ebonized finish, whose black color compliments the warm tones of the walnut wood beautifully. With its clean lines and understated décor typical of the Biedermeier period, this Austrian four-drawer commode from the 19th century will make for a great addition to any home, whether placed in a bedroom or living room.
