An Austrian burl walnut three-drawer commode from the second quarter of the 19th century, with ebonized wood semi-columns and tapered feet. This Biedermeier commode features an exquisite burled walnut rectangular top, sitting above three dovetailed drawers, each adorned with a series of butterfly veneer that creates a lovely accentuation on the façade. The dark hue of the kite-shaped escutcheons is echoed by the presence of the two semi-columns that flank the upper drawers and results in a stunning contrast of colors. The commode is raised on four short tapered feet. With its clean Biedermeier lines and striking finish, this burled walnut commode, circa 1840 will be a lovely focal point in any room, whether placed in a bedroom, living room or foyer.
