An Austrian Biedermeier period walnut kneehole desk from the early 19th century, with new leather top and seven drawers. Born in Imperial Austria during the Biedermeier period, this exquisite walnut desk features a rectangular top with new leather inset, sitting above an elegant apron presenting a long drawer, flanked with darker wood inlaid elongated medallions. The desk is accented with three dovetailed drawers on each side, adorned with a lovely butterfly veneer while the back is highlighted with vertical inlay. Made of three pieces, the desk is raised on four short tapered feet, newly added. With its clean lines and exquisite walnut patina, this Austrian Biedermeier desk circa 1825 will bring a touch of elegance to any home, particularly in an office.
