A large upholstered barrel back wing chair on reeded legs from the early 20th century. This impressive wing armchair is dated circa 1920 and is raised on four round reeded and tapering legs. This wing chair features a large barrel back, a distant interpretation of the 18th century bergère. The ‘ears’ placed on each side were designed to provide great intimacy as well as a protection against drafts. Nowadays it is the perfect chair to read a book in, its structure allowing great comfort and focus. Set in a living room (perhaps next to a fireplace), in a bedroom or in a library, this armchair would bring an original touch to any home.
