This late 18th century rustic English oak server features a rectangular molded plank top over three drawers, each with two brass swan neck handles and an open fretwork keyhole escutcheon. The server is raised on five legs, two straight in the back and three original Silhouette baluster legs in the front, with the outer ones split flat on the exterior. A planked potboard base unites the structure, providing ample storage space for a busy kitchen or a display area, circa 1780, it presents a great finish and is in excellent condition. The rustic construction of the shelf’s vertically arranged planks, the simplicity of the Silhouette legs as well as the apparent wood dovetails on the apron of this English server would bring authenticity to any traditional home.
