An Italian Rococo Revival carved wood console table with marble top from the mid-19th century. This Italian console table features a new slightly raised rectangular marble top showing a light brown color, over an exquisitely carved apron. This apron, scalloped on all sides, is adorned with scrolls, shells and floral motifs. The four cabriole legs on which the table is raised, rest on delicately scrolled feet. After a search for cleaner lines and a decorative vocabulary inspired by the Antiquity, this table is a witness of the revival of the Rococo taste that spread throughout Europe in the mid-19th century.
